PC World’s Harry McCracken Honored For Editorial Courage And Integrity

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – APRIL 28, 2004 – PC World’s Vice President, Editor in Chief Harry McCracken was recognized with American Business Media’s Western Award for Editorial Courage and Integrity. Presented at an editorial session during the Western Publications Association conference in Los Angeles last Friday, the award acknowledges those who uphold the integrity of business-to-business journalism, stand up to outside pressures, and maintain independent and ethical journalism.

“I’m proud to be recognized by the ABM with this award, but really, it’s the entire editorial, art, and PC World Test Center staffs that earned this,” said McCracken. “Their devotion to journalistic integrity is second to none; by fearlessly championing articles that take the side of technology buyers they strive not just to reveal problems but to help readers and site visitors avoid them.”

This year, nearly 1,700 entries were received for editorial, design, and promotional excellence. PC World and PCWorld.com were finalists in 12 categories.
