FRAMINGHAM, MA – SEPTEMBER 15, 2008 – IDG World Expo today announced that attendee registration is now open for Macworld Conference & Expo®, taking place January 5-9, 2009, at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. Attendees who register before December 1, 2008 at www.macworldexpo.com will receive early bird pricing rates. IDG also announced the launch of a new event website with improved navigation and a host of Web 2.0 features that will further engage the Mac community before, during and after the event.
“We’re excited about the new website because it takes the interactivity of Macworld to another level, offering the Mac community more content in a layout that’s much easier to navigate," said Paul Kent, vice president and general manager, Macworld Conference & Expo. “This year’s conference will also have several new and enhanced show floor attractions which will make the 2009 Macworld conference the best one yet.”
New attractions scheduled to debut at this year’s event include: the Macworld Music Studio, an expanded show floor attraction including demonstrations, and training on how to use the Mac to bring your musical visions to life; and the Macworld Learning Center, a show floor stage hosting free educational presentations for new Mac users, a schedule of popular podcasts creating their shows live from Macworld Conference & Expo, and a series of product spotlights where attendees can see demonstrations of innovative products making their debut at the show.
New website features include several Web 2.0 elements that allow users to interact with other Macworld attendees and other Mac users through Facebook, MySpace, and the Macworld Expo social network. Through these social networks, the Mac community can hear and discuss breaking event news. Additionally, the website features improved navigation, search and registration to help attendees better view the numerous educational sessions, exhibiting companies, and products available to them at Macworld Conference & Expo.
