Securities Industry News and Financial Insights Announce Second Annual SecuritiesTech 2007 Ranking of Top Solution Providers

NEW YORK, NY – MAY 1, 2007 – Securities Industry News and Financial Insights, an IDC company, announce the initiation of their second annual ranking of the top global technology and institutional providers for capital markets. This prestigious list will identify those companies with dominant market presence in the North American securities industry and be released as a special supplement to the newspaper on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007. This year's program will draw data exclusively from the investment community via primary research and executive interviews.

Financial Insights and Securities Industry News will reach out to their constituents to gather a broad base of respondents from across the North American securities industry. Firms (hardware, software, and/or IT services) that provide technology solutions for Institutional Broker-Dealers, Trading Desks, Retail Brokerage, Investment Management, Hedge Funds/Alternative Investments, Custody, Clearing and Settlement, and Exchanges will be included based on solution categories for this survey such as: Advisor Workstation, Cash Management, Commission Management, Customer Management/CRM, Data Archiving and Storage.

"The intent of this ranking is to identify those companies with the most actual usage and market presence in the industry, not simply brand awareness, hence the requirement that the technology solution must be in place at the firm," said Jeffrey Kutler, editor in chief of Securities Industry News. "The information we obtain will also enable us to take a look at the capital markets technology sector as a whole and showcase the top providers based on actual user experiences."

"We believe that this ranking will showcase the leaders and offer insight as to how increasing automation, new regulatory regimens and accelerating adoption of newer technologies plays out across global firms," said Jeanne Capachin, Research Vice President, Global Banking and Insurance Practices, for Financial Insights.

In addition to the full SecuritiesTech listing, the 2007 ranking will delineate a subset list of the "Top Three" providers in each category. The first place companies will be recognized at an exclusive Securities Industry News event on Oct. 24, 2007 in New York City. All companies within this top tier will share the common characteristics of scalable technologies, customized solutions and responsive customer service.
