SNIA’s Enterprise Information World and IDG World Expo’s Next Generation Data Center Conferences Join Forces

FRAMINGHAM, MA and SAN FRANCISCO, CA – MARCH 12, 2007 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows and events around the globe, has announced a collaboration with the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) to co-locate the annual Enterprise Information World conference with the new Next Generation Data Center(TM) (NGDC(TM)) event. The combination of the two makes this the most significant and comprehensive event of the year covering the future of data center architectures, management practices, infrastructure, information management and regulatory compliance. NGDC and the SNIA's Enterprise Information World are scheduled to take place August 6-9, 2007 at the Moscone Convention Center, San Francisco, CA.

Together, the two conference programs and combined exposition show floor provide a single venue in which IT, security and RIM professionals can obtain exclusive information across a variety of topics on the evolving data center from leading technology experts. Enterprise Information World will bring together information users, owners and administrators and educate them on creating the "Information-Centric Enterprise." The event addresses elevating information-based management as the best practice approach to reducing cost, business risk and complexity in the enterprise data center.

"The explosion of information and the challenges related to its effective management are major "pain points" for the enterprise data center today. Compliance, legal discovery, security, and long-term archiving provide additional challenges that increase the pressure for adopting the information-based management practices required to establish an information-centric enterprise. This is a critical evolutionary path for the data center and next generation data centers will be built around new information-based management practices," said Vincent Franceschini, Chair of the SNIA Board of Directors. "Our goal in offering Enterprise Information World is to combine SNIA's proven thought leadership and expertise, and its reputation as a trusted advisor to end users and professionals worldwide, with the most comprehensive event of the year addressing the critical needs of the next generation data centers."

The co-located NGDC conference will focus on new technologies and their impact on the data center, covering mission-critical applications and the technology supporting those applications including storage, servers, networking and communications. Targeted to many types of data center professionals, ranging from IT architects, to system administrators, to application and information administrators, NGDC will help professionals identify the right products and services to add to their end-to-end solutions as they adapt to ever-increasing needs for flexibility, scalability and performance with reduced risk and complexity.

"In launching Next Generation Data Center, our goal was to bring the entire data center community together under one roof and provide them with the best possible content," said Melinda Kendall, vice president, Next Generation Data Center. "To provide the best content we need to work with the best resources and when it comes to information-based management in the data center, SNIA is the expert."
