Successful Macworld Conference & Expo 2005 in Boston Completed

FRAMINGHAM, MA – July 19, 2005 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for technology markets, today announced the successful completion of Macworld Conference & Expo(R) in Boston, held July 11-14 at the Hynes Convention Center. Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco is scheduled for January 9-13, 2006 at the Moscone Center and the "Call for Papers" is now open to submit speaking proposals for Macworld San Francisco.

The Macworld Boston exhibit hall featured the newest products and applications for the Mac platform from companies such as Apple Specialists Marketing Co-op, Quark, Xerox Corp., Software Mackiev, Guitar Center, Harman Multimedia, Rimage, Peachpit, Seiko Instruments USA, and many others.

Winners of the Best of Show awards for the 2005 Macworld Conference & Expo were selected by the editors of Macworld magazine and Macworld.com from products that have been recently introduced or were making their public debut at the event. Winners included: @Last Software SketchUp 5.0; DLO Transpod for iPod shuffle; Harman Kardon Drive + Play; Parliant PhoneValet Anywhere, PhoneValet Podcast; Software MacKiev The Print Shop for Mac 2.0. Highlights of the world-class conference program included in-depth training on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger by such Mac industry luminaries as David Pogue, Bob LeVitus, Ted Landau and Dan Frakes; Training on Adobe Creative Suite, Macromedia Flash MX 2004, FileMaker, Final Cut Pro, Advanced Mac Music Production, Professional Photoshop and many more; a feature presentation by popular Mac columnist, Andy Ihnatko; and Mac industry pundit and Macworld 911 columnist Chris Breen hosted the MacBrainiac Challenge.

Popular exhibit hall highlights included the "Geeks and Gadgets Stage," which provided free education to attendees; David Pogue's Genius Minibar, where the popular NY Times columnist and author of the Missing Manual series signed books, took questions, and talked about new Tiger features and secrets; and the Berklee Dream Studio, Berklee College of Music's state-of-the-art music studio with music production demonstrations and daily lectures by Berklee faculty.

Macworld and Berklee College of Music teamed up to present a free music festival that featured select Berklee artists who compose and produce their works on the Mac. Birdsongs of the Mesozoic, one of Boston's most prolific and original bands, headlined the festival that drew hundreds of spectators.
