Technical Advisory Group Selected for Inaugural Portable Power Conference & Expo
CAMBRIDGE, MA and FRAMINGHAM, MA – APRIL 2, 2003 – TIAX, a leading product and technology development and consulting firm, and IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for IT markets, today announced the formation of a Technical Advisory Group for the upcoming Portable Power Conference & Expo.
This new event will bring together key decision makers from the fast-growing spectrum of technology that powers wireless communications and portable computing. The event will take place September 21-23, 2003 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center.
The Technical Advisory Group (or “TAG team”) will ensure that Portable Power Conference & Expo focuses on the most important innovations, standards, market challenges, and strategies in the portable power marketplace. The TAG team will also develop content that explores the opportunities and issues associated with next-generation power for portable devices and the solutions necessary to ensure the success of future products. To add further value to Portable Power Conference & Expo, the TAG team will oversee the development of new research into the ways that business users and consumers currently use device power sources. The research results will be announced at the event.

Brian Barnett chaired the Power series of conferences for nine years, before taking this position as conference chair of Portable Power Conference & Expo. He is also a frequent speaker on batteries and fuel cells and an advisor to industry on a wide range of subjects related to portable power. At TIAX, he heads the Battery Industry Studies group.
