Top 100 Financial Industry Technology Vendors Named; American Banker and Financial Insights Releases Second Annual `FinTech 100′ Ranking

NEW YORK – NOVEMBER 8, 2005 – American Banker, SourceMedia's flagship publication for banking and financial services professionals, and Financial Insights, an IDC Company, a global independent advisory firm, released the second annual FinTech 100 ranking of the top technology providers to the financial services industry worldwide.

"A key message of this year's rankings is that the marketplace for financial technology continues to change at an extremely fast pace and in some unexpected ways," said David Longobardi, editor-in-chief, American Banker. "More than ever, financial institutions need to know how their vendors stack up — in terms of size, scale, and capacity for growth relative to their peers."

Michon Schenck, chief operating officer, Financial Insights, said, "The rest of this decade will be a time of further consolidation for FinTech vendors. With a tighter spending environment and financial institutions limiting the suppliers with which they do business, the advantage will go to larger, better-capitalized firms as featured in the FinTech 100 ranking."
